Coverage gap view — not a policy recommendation

Actual travel insurance can contain per-person limits, per-item baggage limits, excess rules, exclusions, age limits, destination restrictions and benefit-specific conditions. Verify the current policy wording before purchase or travel.

Trip-specific planning

Different trips create different exposures

A short domestic trip and an expensive international trip can have very different cancellation, medical, evacuation and baggage risks. The planner keeps each exposure separate so the assumptions remain visible.

Compare limits, not marketing labels

“Comprehensive” does not show the actual numbers

Entering the actual benefit limits makes it easier to see where a category may leave a gap. You should still verify exclusions, sub-limits and eligibility directly from the policy wording.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Travel Insurance Coverage Planner compare?

It compares user-entered trip exposures with policy limits for cancellation, emergency medical care, evacuation, baggage and travel delay.

How is the potential gap calculated?

The simplified model subtracts the entered excess or deductible from the policy limit, compares the remaining usable limit with the modeled exposure and shows any uncovered amount.

Does this tell me whether a travel policy is sufficient?

No. It is a planning comparison only. Real travel policies may contain per-person limits, per-item limits, exclusions, age restrictions, destination rules and benefit-specific conditions.

Why include emergency evacuation separately from medical cover?

Emergency evacuation or repatriation can have different limits and conditions from ordinary emergency medical treatment, so the planner keeps those exposures separate.

Can I model baggage and travel-delay gaps?

Yes. Enter the value or exposure you want to compare and the corresponding policy limit. The workspace shows the potential gap and coverage ratio.

Can I save the trip plan?

Yes. You can copy the summary, export CSV, print/save a PDF-style report or save a local FormatForge project file and restore it later.
