A lower premium or lower cost per unit of coverage does not make a policy better. Definitions, underwriting, exclusions, waiting periods, riders, claims terms, renewability, taxation and regulation can differ materially. Verify current policy documents and seek appropriately qualified advice where required.
Normalize the numbers
Two policies can have different coverage amounts, payment periods and policy terms. FormatForge therefore calculates annual cost per 100,000 units of coverage and total entered premium over the payment period. Those calculations make numerical differences easier to inspect without pretending that cheaper means better.
Review qualitative terms
Riders, exclusions, waiting periods, renewability and special conditions can materially change what a policy provides. The workspace keeps these user-entered notes next to the numbers so the comparison is not reduced to a price table.
It compares user-entered coverage, annual premium, policy term, premium-payment term, total premium over the entered payment period, normalized annual cost per 100,000 units of coverage, riders, exclusions, waiting periods and notes.
No. It highlights mathematical differences but does not rank policy quality or recommend an insurer. A lower premium or lower normalized cost can come with different definitions, exclusions, underwriting, riders and claims terms.
It is annual premium divided by coverage measured in units of 100,000. It helps normalize premiums when policy coverage amounts differ, but it should never be used by itself to decide which policy is suitable.
You can enter different currencies, but FormatForge does not perform exchange-rate conversion in this workspace. When currencies differ, the interface warns that normalized cost comparisons are not directly comparable.
Yes. You can download CSV, print/save a PDF-style report, copy a text summary, or save a local FormatForge project JSON file and reload it later.
The current comparison workspace is designed to calculate and manage the entered policy details in your browser. The optional project file is downloaded to your device.
