FAQ

Invoice payment terms and due date questions

How do I calculate a Net 30 invoice due date?

Select Net days, choose 30 days and enter the invoice date. If your contract starts the term from receipt rather than issue, select Receipt date as the starting basis.

What do Net 15, Net 30, Net 45 and Net 60 mean?

They normally indicate that payment is due a stated number of days after the agreed starting date. The contract may define that date as invoice issue, receipt, acceptance or another event.

Can the calculator use business days instead of calendar days?

Yes. Select Business days, choose the weekend pattern and enter any relevant holidays or company closure dates.

Can I calculate end-of-month payment terms?

Yes. Choose End of invoice month, End of month plus days, or a fixed day of the following month.

What happens when a due date falls on a weekend or holiday?

Enable the working-day adjustment to move the result to the next working day. Confirm the actual contractual convention because some agreements use a previous-working-day rule instead.

Does the tool automatically know public holidays?

No. Holiday calendars vary by country, region, bank, employer and year. Enter the exact dates relevant to your invoice or contract.

Can this tool tell me whether an invoice is overdue?

Yes. Enter a review date and the calculator shows whether payment is upcoming, due today or overdue, together with the number of days remaining or overdue.

Is this calculator accounting or legal advice?

No. It is a planning aid. Confirm payment terms, invoice receipt, disputes, holidays and legal obligations with the contract and authorised finance process.
