Practical guide
A date difference calculator measures the elapsed time between two calendar dates. It is useful for project schedules, service periods, rental durations, delivery lead times, employee records, travel plans and event preparation. This tool reports the absolute difference in days, then expresses the same duration as weeks and approximate months. The month figure is intentionally approximate because calendar months contain different numbers of days. When a contract or policy defines whether the first or last day is included, that business rule should be applied separately rather than assuming every system counts dates in the same way.
Start date: 1 July
End date: 15 July
Difference: 14 elapsed days
Approximate duration: 2 weeks
Selected dates are processed in your browser and are not submitted to FormatForge.

Months vary from 28 to 31 days, so the tool uses the average length of a Gregorian calendar month.
No. It calculates calendar days. Business-day calculations require a holiday and working-week calendar.
Yes. The calculator uses the absolute difference, so the order does not change the duration.
