Crypto Cost Basis & Tax Lot Organizer
Organize crypto buys and sells into FIFO, LIFO or HIFO-style tax lots and calculate modeled realized P/L, remaining basis and lot matches.
Lot organization workspace
Match buys and sells without pretending to file your taxes
Enter transactions and compare FIFO, LIFO or HIFO-style lot matching. The tool calculates modeled basis and gains; whether a method is permitted is a separate legal/tax question.

Practical workflow
Organize lots without pretending to prepare a tax return.
Compare FIFO, LIFO and HIFO-style matching, inspect matched lots and export the calculation for review.
Crypto scope
Transparent calculations, not predictions
FormatForge does not recommend tokens, predict prices or tell users to buy, sell, hold or use leverage. Results depend on user-entered assumptions and may omit exchange-, tax- or market-specific factors.
Frequently asked questions
What methods are available?
The workspace supports FIFO, LIFO and HIFO-style lot matching for calculation and comparison.
Does that mean all three methods are allowed for tax reporting?
No. Permitted lot-identification methods and documentation requirements vary by jurisdiction and can change.
How are buy fees handled?
Entered buy fees are added to each lot's cost basis and therefore affect its unit cost.
How are sell fees handled?
Entered sell fees are allocated to the quantity matched from available lots and reduce modeled net proceeds.
What happens if a sell is larger than available earlier buy lots?
The unmatched quantity is flagged so the user can correct missing or misdated transactions.
Is this tax advice?
No. It is a lot organizer and arithmetic aid. Tax treatment, reporting and allowable methods require jurisdiction-specific review.
