Bitcoin Trade Planner

Plan a BTC trade from your own entry, capital, stop, fees and targets. See the position quantity, modeled loss, break-even price and reward-to-risk before you commit to a scenario.

Plan the loss before looking at the profit

Enter your own prices. FormatForge does not fetch a market price or tell you when to trade. It calculates position exposure, fees, stop-loss risk, break-even and target outcomes from your assumptions.

2.34 : 1 modeled reward-to-risk

If all entered target allocations execute at their entered prices, modeled net P/L is $78.45 versus modeled stop loss of $33.55.

This is scenario mathematics, not an expected return. Targets can fail, gaps and slippage can exceed a stop, and leveraged positions can be liquidated under exchange-specific rules before a planned stop executes.

Leverage boundary

We do not invent a liquidation price

Liquidation depends on exchange maintenance margin, contract type, collateral mode, funding and other rules. This planner uses leverage only to calculate notional exposure and P/L. Use your exchange's official liquidation calculation for leveraged positions.

How the planner calculates your trade

Position notional

Capital × leverage

BTC quantity

Notional ÷ entry

Stop P/L

Price move × BTC − fees

Break-even

Entry adjusted for modeled round-trip fees

Fee calculations assume the entered percentage applies to each executed entry or exit order. They do not include spread, slippage, funding, borrowing costs, taxes or tiered maker/taker schedules.

Why this is different

More useful than a BTC profit calculator

A basic profit calculator starts with a buy price and sell price. A trade plan starts with downside: position exposure, stop distance, fees and maximum modeled loss. Targets come after the risk is visible.

No price prediction

Your assumptions stay separate from the mathematics

FormatForge does not choose an entry or target and does not score a trade. This makes the tool useful for scenario planning without pretending that arithmetic can predict the market.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Bitcoin Trade Planner use the live BTC price?

No. You enter the entry, stop and target prices yourself. The tool deliberately avoids turning a planning calculator into a market-price or signal service.

How is BTC quantity calculated?

Position notional is capital or margin multiplied by the selected leverage. BTC quantity is that notional divided by the entered Bitcoin entry price.

Are trading fees included?

Yes. The planner applies your entered fee percentage to modeled executed entry and exit orders. Spread, slippage, funding, borrowing costs, taxes and tiered fee schedules are not included.

Does the leverage option calculate liquidation price?

No. Liquidation is exchange- and contract-specific and can depend on maintenance margin, collateral mode, funding and other rules. The planner uses leverage for exposure and P/L mathematics only.

What does reward-to-risk mean here?

It compares modeled net target profit with the modeled loss at the entered stop. It is a scenario ratio, not a probability of success or expected return.

Can I plan a short Bitcoin trade?

Yes. Switch from Long to Short. The planner reverses the price-direction logic for stop-loss and profit targets.

Can I split a trade across several take-profit targets?

Yes. Three target rows let you enter separate prices and position percentages. The tool shows the BTC exit quantity, estimated fees, net P/L and reward-to-risk for each target.

Is this financial or trading advice?

No. FormatForge performs transparent arithmetic from values you provide. It does not predict Bitcoin prices, recommend trades or tell you to buy, sell, hold or use leverage.

Risk notice

A modeled stop is not a guaranteed loss limit

Fast markets, gaps, slippage, exchange outages and liquidation rules can cause an actual result to differ materially from this calculation. Crypto assets and leveraged trading can involve substantial loss. Use the planner as arithmetic, not as a recommendation.
